Trainer Time...

I have decided there is very little that is as nind numbing in the world as time spent on a bicycle trainer. That having been said, it was an hour and fifteen minutes of saddle time that I would not have had yesterday, and at this point, in my shape, everything helps.

And, with a Nor'easter on its way in, the trainer may be an even bigger part of this week. ****sigh****

Yeah, I donno why, but it is really boring. Treadmills and ellipticals are super fun compared to the trainer. We got a set of rollers. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm hoping that needing to balance and all that stuff makes it more entertaining.

Have you considered Spinervals videos? I have not tried them (I haven't had to contend with much bad weather in the last 4 yrs, so I don't have a trainer), but I know folks that swear by them. The gouge I get says they keep you motivated AND will substantialy improve your speed and power--if they don't kill you first... :-)

I have some Spinervals, and I have done them in the past. I am most assuredly NOT at that stage yet. Coach Troy is like the Stalin of cycling training--he's a mass murderer, but most people outside the community don't know it.

I feel the same way about having to run on a treadmill. Much rather be outside running.

I'll still take the treadmill over the trainer, any day....
